Let me introduce the faucet manufacturing process to you, it can be divided into: sand casting, manual metal mold casting, gravity casting machine casting or low pressure casting.
Gravity casting refers to the process in which the molten metal is injected into the mold under the influence of the earth's gravity, it is also known as gravity pouring. Gravity casting in a broad sense includes sand casting, metal casting, investment casting, lost foam casting, mud casting, etc.; narrow sense gravity casting mainly refers to metal casting.
2. Low-pressure casting
Low-pressure casting is a method in which liquid metal fills the cavity under pressure to form a casting. Due to the low pressure used, it is called low pressure casting. Low-pressure casting includes processes such as liquid lift, mold filling, crust (sand casting), pressurization, holding pressure (crystallization and solidification), and venting (pressure relief).
3. Sand casting
It needs to put the lower half on the flat plate, put the sand box to fill the sand tightly and scrape it flat first, after the lower mold is finished, turn the sand shape 180 degrees, put the upper half, and split put the molding agent in the sand box, fill it with sand and firm it and scrape it flat. Turn the upper sand box 180 degrees, take out the upper and lower halves, and then turn the upper mold and the lower mold 180 degrees together. The sand mold is finished. Waiting for pouring. This set of crafts is commonly known as "turning sand".
4. Manual metal mold casting
Metal casting, commonly known as hard mold casting, is a method of manufacturing castings made of metal materials and pouring molten metal into the mold under gravity to obtain castings. Since a pair of metal molds can be poured hundreds to tens of thousands of times, metal mold casting is also called permanent mold casting. Metal mold casting is not only suitable for mass production of complex shapes of aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys and other non-ferrous alloy castings, but also for the production of steel metal castings, ingots, etc.
Most of the casting technologies on the market under 100 RMB and some mid-range products are sand casting. This is what people usually call "turning sand". In the products produced by this process, the internal structure of the valve body metal is loose, and it is easy to form internal defects such as "trachoma" and "stomata". It may not be found in appearance. However, after using for a period of time, it will be water leaking, loose sealing and even greater defects. High-end faucets are usually made by gravity casting. The internal structure of the valve body metal is dense, the quality is passable, and the service life is long. For the same valve body, the weight of the products produced by the two processes is different, and the consumption of materials is also different. The weight of the gravity-cast valve body and the sand-molded valve body generally differ by about 1/4. Therefore, for the same product, the price is different.
